A Bit of Detail from Banff
In Banff we were with the Trilogy Hiking Club. Our trip was much longer than the portion shared with the Hiking Club. We traveled for weeks, but shared only about a week with our friends in the hiking club.
Part of that week was spent in Banff, Alberta Canada.
The Hiking Club had arranged for a discount at a resort/hotel in Banff, so that's where we stayed. Turned out to be a perfectly adequate place for the hiking, but not so much for me personally. It was in great proximity to their selected hiking trails, but I wasn't hiking. So, I spent quite a bit of time alone in the hotel room alone.
We chose the room from the website. Our criteria was a king sized bed. Turns out the King bed selection was mostly in 2nd floor rooms. There was no elevator, a fact we weren't sure about when looking on the website. It also turns out there was no one to help with our luggage. As senior citizens, we usually have at least a luggage cart and an elevator...
And so it was we selected the Wolf Condo.
Our bedroom was on the 2nd floor of the 2nd floor room!!!
We had to drag our stuff up to the second floor and then up to the bedroom, up yet another flight of stairs, essentially a 3rd floor!!
It was really difficult. The building was probably built in the 1980's (I'm guessing.) Which means the stairs were not to modern day building codes. They were quite steep and the tread narrow. Hand railing was only on one side of the stairs and very high up, over my shoulders.
Electrical outlets were not plentiful. Kitchen area tiny, had to move the coffee maker and toaster to an outlet, no space to set them, had to improvise.
Ed went looking for an outlet for phone charging in the bedroom, found a black ladies thong behind dresser. Ugh. double ugh.
The exterior was sort of sloping roof, blocking any interior views. Built I suppose to capture warmth in the ski seasons. But the result was a condo with absolute no daylight, no view. So dark! Color scheme didn't help, red and black. Black wolf handles on all cabinetry. So dreary.
Good think I actually like wolves.
You would think we stayed there a whole year or two! Actually only about 4 days.
Just so you think this was the only place we stayed, here are some other lodging photos:

We were in the upper part, this one was across the street from our room.
Had to turn on a light. This was all the view from inside. There was a pretty waterfall out there, which I went outside to capture on photo.
The wolf photo etched on metal over the breakfast table.
View of waterfall in center
View from the tiny bedroom window.
Wolf to sleep with
Better view of the waterfall outside
Wolf hardware on cabinets
night table, no phone charging stuff, very few electrical outlets.
