2010 Santa Fe, New Mexico

This is Ed at The Inn at Loretto in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

This is a really nice place, and I'm glad we are here. I'm having a lot of problems typing, so I'll keep this short. I'm ok - it is working out. Still hurts quite a bit, but I love the feeling in this place.
There are lots of fine textiles here - I find myself thinking of Tracy and feeling all the knited things. It is very neat here.

Barbara models the newest look in cast and sling.

Barbara - sporting the newest look in broken elbow. [note new construction I can watch from my balcony. Improving our condo value!]

Hi All, I guess by now most of you know that I took a pretty bad fall on Monday at work, and I broke my right elbow.

Anyway, our run of luck continued this evening as Ed's temporary crown fell off. His tooth hurts. We're both sitting in our La-Z-Boys taking ibuprofen. He gets his stitches out tomorrow though.

sometimes life is just a bummer.

We are looking forward to Santa Fe, hope it is relaxing. and healing.

Beautiful southwestern colors shown here at Scotty's Castle in Death Valley, CA May 2010

Fall is moving right along, although our trip through the mountains to WV showed mostly fairly subdued foliage this time. I have heard it was the summer drought that dulls the colors a bit. Still, Bruceton Mills was beautiful and the drive fantastic - the weather pretty and warm.
We were able to stop and hike a bit at Williamsport, MD and we drove home along the old roads, avoiding the overcrowded interstate.

Last night we went to see "Tower of Power" - which is a music group that started in 1968 in Oakland, CA. They are a soul/funk group and quite a lot of fun. With nods to such greats as James Brown, they were an awesome show!

**Note to Joey! They are playing at the BB King Blues club in NYC tonight! Just sayin'

Their home page at http://www.towerofpower.com/ has a nice video of one song, and they have a ton of videos on You Tube.

Anyway, you couldn't help but have a good time there. It was a lot of fun to hear them. They are really good musicians and the main vocalist is a real "WOW" of a singer. I definitely will go see them again sometime. This was an older, appreciative crowd. The Birchmere is a nice venue, large enough and good sound system. Pretty OK food served before the show and good enough seating options for us.
