Under the Palapa in Punta Cana

I'm just now recovering from 7 days in the sun of the Dominican Republic.  We stayed at an "all inclusive" this time, a new concept for us.    All in all, I think it went well. The view of the sun and the sky will have to stay with me for a while, as I dwell underground in a windowless office.  I've really learned to appreciate my time in the sunlight.

I didn't even get sunburned, thanks to liberal use of a decent sunscreen.  I think I was using about a 50, but it worked and I feel fine and have just a little tan line.  Good job!

The view out my airplane window was just amazing from Miami to the DR.  That little white edge you can see on this particular island is BEACH!!  I was so excited!! Miles and miles of beautiful sugar soft white sands and the amazing aqua water.  I could hardly wait!  I enjoyed watching the Florida Keys from 30,000 feet too.

Its just about sundown in this photo, we're going to dinner.  Everything here is included in one price, and the dinners are usually "all you can eat" buffets, which are pretty amazing.  The food is pretty good, and in some cases really really good.  The fresh fruit, seafood and veggies are amazing.
That is the Atlantic Ocean in the back I think.

The actual resort was super clean, with lots of staff working hard to make it so.  Part of the "all inclusive" deal is unlimited drinks too.  Although I don't drink much, we did enjoy some rum based drinks, since I think they might make Brugal rum here.  and Cerveza.  And a bit of wine too, but I didn't think the wine was very good.
