Amanda's forthcoming marriage is right on the horizon, just a very few days away. We're all excited and doing last minute things - looking for just the right accessories to make the day dazzling. She looks awesome and the gown is lovely. The fittings are going well, the borrowed headpiece is really cute.
Ed and I attended a three day seminar entitled: Making the Most of your Federal Retirement.
What an overwhelming lot of information that is. Some of my friends said it was depressing. I didn't think depressing, but perhaps stressful in some ways. There is certainly a whole lot to think about, a whole lot of things to check on and make sure about - such as wills, advance directives, power of attorney - beneficiary forms correctly completed. And the list goes on.
Mostly I'm just thinking "Retirement ! Whoo Hooo!!!"
We enjoyed a really fun show last night at the Strathmore Music Hall. It was the Baltimore Choral Arts Society and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra accompanied by various Broadway stars singing songs from Les Miserables and Miss Saigon. They were awesome and it was a lot of fun. Great voices.
On another topic, one of my co-workers was attacked by a goose here at work. She broke her arm and is still recovering. We are noticing a decoy or fake wolf on campus now. We think he is here to scare the geese away. Someone moves him every few days. He looks fairly realistic. It is a strange thing to see off in the distance. Today he is sitting right where I spotted the hawk a few weeks ago. Maybe he is "hawk abatement" also?
Of everything, I'm looking forward to Amanda and Todd's wedding, seeing many extended family, and enjoying their happy time. Can't wait!!
