Thursday afternoon, Valentines day, Mom had a major stroke. This event left her unable to use her left side. By Friday we were home, lost in the maze of what to do next. In her case, she is still intact mentally, more or less. Sometimes surprisingly clear and present, other times in a place far away from us.
It also left her unable to swallow, which thrust us all into the situation of having to say Y/N to a feeding tube.
I'm still struggling to figure out the overall prognosis. I struggle with the ethics of the whole thing. I think I will write more about this later though, it is too difficult to think about it right now.
