2018 August Chicago vacation

August is typically a very hot month here in Phoenix, so we decided to take a vacation from the heat.  We chose Chicago because we had both been there several times on business, but never able to fully enjoy the city.  Also, the Art Institute of Chicago was having an exhibition of John Singer Sargent art that we wanted to see.  So off we go!
It was in the 80-90 degree range with humidity, so it felt pretty warm.

This was our view from room 523 at the Kinzie Hotel in the North River district.

Mainly we visited the Art Institute, then Oak Park to see Frank Lloyd Wright's home and office, and the Architecture River tour.

I think this is the Merchandise mart - Mom might have worked there in the 1940's for Aldens Catalog.  Miles of space and some there wore roller skates for work.
